Yin Yoga is a quiet, slow and meditative style that incorporates principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. For beginners, asanas (poses) are held from 45 seconds to two minutes. Students with more experience hold asanas 3-10 minutes. With weekly participation (and practicing on your own 1-2x a week), you’ll notice that holding poses longer will come with ease. Props are recommended to help with melting into each pose while experiencing zero pain or strain. The goal is to apply moderate stress to open your connective tissues, tendons, fascia, and ligaments. With practice you’ll increase circulation in your joints, improve flexibility and strengthen your inner silence.
Dress comfortably to move freely. Yoga mat, yoga blocks, cushions/bolsters and a strap/belt are recommended for stability and comfort.
