Vinyasa for Veterans: In Person and Virtual

Vinyasa yoga is when we sync our breath with each asana (pose).  This practice is an alternative therapy to combat stress and the mental/physical pain it can sometimes cause over time.  We know this as the fight-or-flight system, and when in combat this gets activated so often that it sometimes gets stuck.  Yoga is an effective way to quiet down our autonomic nervous system.

Meditation, breathing techniques, deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra/iRest), and gentle stretching to reduce physical, emotional, and mental tension are practiced.  All are welcome.

Dress comfortably to move freely.  Yoga mat, yoga blocks, cushions/bolsters and a strap/belt are recommended to use for stability and comfort although not needed for every class. 

*In-person classes range from 5-7 participants.
